Sinus rhythm. Heart rate 490. QRS axis +20
PR 130ms. QRS 80ms. QT/QTc 700/580
Normal ventricular voltages
Marked prolongation of QT/QTc with T wave alternans
Imp: Long QT syndrome

Comment: November 30th 2006
This boy had a brief syncopal spell 2 weeks before this event but was generally considered very healthy. At the time of his collapse he was playing in the snow with his brother and was resusitated with a thump on the chest once it was realised that he was unconscious. There was no family history of LQTS. He received an AICD and the rest of his family is being screened.
